Our Sustainable Materials

We believe that conscious creativity begins with mindful materials.

The Story Behind Our Materials

From earth to art: How we source, create, and deliver sustainable art supplies.

At Pluzxit, we believe that art should honor both creator and planet. Our materials are carefully selected and ethically sourced to ensure your creative practice remains in harmony with nature. From the wild Atlantic coastline to the mossy woodlands of County Kerry, we transform sustainable resources into tools for artistic expression.

Sustainable Sourcing

We partner with local suppliers who share our commitment to ethical harvesting and production practices. Every material we use is traceable and sustainable.

Non-Toxic Formulations

Our paints, inks, and art materials are carefully formulated without harmful chemicals, ensuring they're safe for you, your home, and the environment.

Minimal Waste

From recyclable packaging to reusable containers, we've designed our product lifecycle to minimize environmental impact and reduce waste.

Our Core Materials

The sustainable ingredients that form the foundation of our art supplies.

Irish Botanical Pigments

We extract vibrant colours from native Irish botanicals using gentle techniques that preserve their natural brilliance. Our heather purples, gorse yellows, and seaweed greens connect your artwork to the Irish landscape.

These botanical pigments form the base of our watercolours, inks, and selected acrylic paints, offering unique colour profiles that change subtly with different papers and applications.

Recycled Cotton Papers

Our papers are crafted from 100% recycled cotton fibers, creating acid-free surfaces with a distinctive texture perfect for multiple mediums. Each sheet is produced with minimal water usage and without harmful bleaches.

The natural variations in our cotton papers add character to your artwork, with each sketchbook and paper pad having its own subtle personality and response to different techniques.

Sustainable Wood & Bamboo

The handles of our brushes and tools come from FSC-certified wood and rapidly renewable bamboo. Each piece is carefully shaped to provide perfect balance and comfort during extended creative sessions.

We treat our wooden tools with natural oils that enhance their durability while maintaining their connection to their natural origins, allowing you to feel the warmth of natural materials as you create.

Our Artisanal Process

How we transform raw materials into tools for your creative expression.

1. Thoughtful Collection

We harvest and gather raw materials according to sustainable practices, respecting natural cycles and ensuring we leave ecosystems intact. Our botanical pigments are collected during specific seasons to ensure optimal color and minimal impact.

2. Traditional Processing

We blend modern efficiency with time-honored techniques. Our pigments are ground using traditional stone methods, while our papers are formed through a hybrid process that preserves water and energy while maintaining artisanal quality.

3. Mindful Crafting

Each product is assembled with intention, often by hand in our Tralee studio. We test every batch for consistency, vibrancy, and performance to ensure your creative tools meet our exacting standards.

4. Sustainable Packaging

We package our products in recyclable or biodegradable materials, often using innovative solutions like seed paper that can be planted after use, or containers that transform into tools for your studio.
